Every beautiful beginning has a story, and ours began with a little girl named Kobe.

Welcome to Rae of Sunshine In Home Daycare, a small, family-owned childcare program in Port St. Lucie, Florida, built on love, family, and a passion for helping little ones grow.

Our story began when I became a mother to my daughter, Kobe Rae. After welcoming her into the world, returning to a traditional workplace was no longer the right fit for our family. I wanted to be present for the little moments, the milestones, the giggles, and the everyday magic of watching her grow. With my background in babysitting and nannying, and my mother’s experience as a former English teacher, we realized we had something special to offer other families. Together, as a mother-daughter team, we turned our love for children into something meaningful.

And just like that, Rae of Sunshine was born.

A Mother-Daughter Team with a Heart for Children

We believe childcare is about so much more than simply watching children. It’s about building trust, encouraging curiosity, celebrating milestones, nurturing independence, and helping shape the little people they are becoming. There is something incredibly special about being part of a child’s earliest years. We don’t take that responsibility lightly. As a mother and grandmother working side by side, we bring two generations of love, patience, experience, and understanding into our daycare. Our Cuban roots are also a beautiful part of who we are. As a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking family, we love incorporating language, culture, music, and traditions into everyday experiences, giving children opportunities to explore and appreciate the world around them.

We understand that choosing someone to care for your child is one of the biggest decisions a parent can make. That’s why we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and loved.

Our qualifications include:

• CPR certification

• Completed background screenings

• Florida DCF childcare training

• Experience in babysitting, nannying, and education

• Bilingual English and Spanish communication

Our small-group setting allows us to build genuine relationships with each child and family while providing personalized attention and Montessori-inspired, play-based learning.

Rae of Sunshine may have started because of one little girl, but it has grown into a dream of making a difference in the lives of many. We hope that every child who walks through our doors leaves with more confidence, more curiosity, happy memories, and the feeling that they were truly loved. Because to us, these aren’t just children in our care. They’re little individuals with big personalities, endless potential, and bright futures ahead. We aren’t just here to watch them grow. We’re honored to be a little part of who they become.
